How to be – and stay – employable

At this moment in time, you are the one who knows your job with its problems and pitfalls probably better than anybody else. A good strategy to ensure that you stay employable, would be to make yourself invaluable for your company, thereby ensuring your job and position in the company. 

 Here’s how to do that:

- There is a big training and capability gap in the marketplace regarding AI adoption at this point in time. The BEST job applications will not be those with the best CV as we used to know it anymore —but rather a video showing what you have built for your specific company, using AI. - Get into the habit of building something from top to bottom in your organisation; using AI as a tool. Something useful, or something unique that you knowwill solve some problem you encounter daily on the job.- Create your own AI tools instead of leaning on Microsoft CoPilot or ChatGPT 5.2 Pro and use AI as a second opinion. - Choose one area of expertise and commit to it deeply.- You will also be ahead of the pack if you can demonstrate that you give a damn— because AI can not, and does not. 

How to help people cross the gap in times of uncertainty

 Here is some advice on how to arm our societies against the shock of change — taken from a motivational podcast with Tony Robbins.

 - Our psychology should be retooled which means that our value systems should change.  

- The answer lies in identity—nót in the outside world.

 - We should change our identity to that of creator, not a manager of circumstances: events controlling you instead of you controlling events. 

- Become a creator on your own terms.

 - Concentrate on mental health and discover your driving desire.

 - In short: societies should get prepared by adopting a different psychology about change. 

- You will discover that the answer is already inside you. 

Who are ‘The Magnificent Seven’?

These are the US companies that  are regarded as leaders in the Al revolution, driving breakthroughs in hardware, software, and Al agents. The list with their CEOs looks like this:

1. Alphabet (GOOGL/GOOG): Sundar Pichai

2. Amazon (AMZN): Andy Jassy

3. Apple (AAPL): Tim Cook

4. Meta Platforms (META): Mark Zuckerberg

5. Microsoft (MSFT): Satya Nadella

6. Nvidia (NVDA): Jensen Huang

7. Tesla (TSLA): Elon Musk 

 The largest companies by market cap are typically:

1. Apple: Approx. $4.01 trillion

2. Microsoft: Approx. $3.62 trillion

3. Alphabet: Approx. $3.81 trillion

4. Amazon: Approx. $1.5 trillio

5. Meta: Approx. $1.68 trillion

6. Nvidia: Around $1 trillion (as of late 2025).

 Other major AI Companies:

- DeepMind: Led by Demis Hassabis

 - OpenAI: Founded by Elon Musk, but current leadership includes Sam Altman.

- Anthropic: Founded by former OpenAI employees.

 The only other country in the AI race is China! The Al landscape in China is highly competitive: there is no single "biggest" Chinese AI company, as leadership is divided between established technology conglomerates with massive infrastructure and new, high-valuation startups. Big Tech giants such as Alibaba, DeepSeek

Tencent, ByteDance and a new wave of specialized startups known as the "Al Tigers" are producing the same quality work as America and are leading in real-world applications. 

What are Technical AI Tokens?

Tokens are units of text used in natural language processing by LLMs. A token can be a word, part of a word, or even punctuation. They determine the cost of using AI tools. 

 In models like ChatGPT, a token can represent a word or part of a word, depending on the text’s complexity.

 The average person speaks about 20 000 tokens per day at 1.3 tokens per word. (That amounts to about 15,385 words per day: 20,000 tokens ÷ 1.3 tokens/word).

 The cost of a token on ChatGPT5 is $10 per million tokens. So, the cost for 20,000 tokens would be approximately $0.20 per day. 

 Understanding tokens can help save money and improve results by using concise and precise prompts to make sure that you get the desired output.
